HI, I'M OLIVIA

(Because therapy is intimidating enough without knowing who your therapist is.)

I am incredibly honored by your curiosity in me. I have been a practicing therapist since 2016. As a therapist,  I am energized by facilitating groups, watching clients make connections in their lives, and being there as they successfully complete therapy. It has been such an honor to be with men and women who lost everything from their kids, homes, jobs, and often freedom, and to sit with them as they strive to put the pieces back together, often creating a life more beautiful than they ever dreamed possible.

I failed to realize for the longest time what all I was seeing and experiencing had to do with me. Addiction, mental illness, and trauma were very present and real in my family. I had not realized how these forces shaped me, my outlook, and my passion. My family jokes that our dynamics raised a therapist. This professional work has also called me to do my own therapeutic work, allowing me to fully show up for my clients and authentically know it's possible to enter into the darkest parts of ourselves and come out more beautiful than ever.

In 2020, right as the world faced a terrifying pandemic, I gave birth to a beautiful baby. Rather than the out-pouring of love I have always received from my community, my partner and I learned about parenthood alone. In this experience, I came to understand the complexities and paradoxes of having a baby. I had never felt so vulnerable and whole at the same time. Ever since, I have pursued therapeutic relationships with parents grappling with the dramatic life changes parenthood brings.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. This is how I love to see myself and my clients. The spot where you have cracked and mended is the most beautiful part of you.
